My name is Irena, and embroidery has been my passion and profession since 1995. Trained at École Lesage in Paris — the world's foremost school of Haute Couture embroidery — I create one-of-a-kind jewelry and accessories, and teach the art of hand embroidery to students across the globe. Three new pieces are coming to the shop — and two of them arrive with a small story.
A year ago, at the very start of my metalwork, I made a silver necklace with white embroidered hearts. I never quite loved it — so it lived out of sight, waiting. Looking at it now with today's eyes, I could see what to do. I took it apart. From its parts, two new pieces were born: "Edelweiss," a dimensional flower brooch of river pearls and antique glass, with a small treasure at its heart — and "Queen of Hearts," a small silver heart pendant with a yellow topaz drop on an antique braided silver cord.
Alongside them: "Midsummer" — a brass necklace with red embroidered flowers, worked over a month from the first brass wire to the last stitch.
